The Aranjuez Town Hall has extended the free WiFi coverage to over 95% of the public spaces at the Isabel de Farnesio Cultural Centre, which now also features eight new computers for public access.
The Aranjuez Town Hall has expanded the free WiFi network at the Isabel de Farnesio Cultural Centre, so that more than 95% of the public use spaces in the building now have wireless connectivity. This initiative, driven by the Department of Technological Development and IT, extends the service, which was previously limited to the study room and the adult library, to the hall and nearly all classrooms.
Additionally, eight new public access computers have been added in the adult library, designed for any resident to browse the Internet, carry out procedures with public administrations, consult the electronic headquarters, or perform any digital task without needing to have their own device.
This measure complements the initiative of the Digital Training Centre, created in 2024, which has trained over 1,000 people through dozens of free courses and has been recognised by Madrid Aula Digital for its educational work.
The delegate for Technological Development and IT, David Esteban Fernández, stated that “digital transformation only makes sense if it translates into useful services for residents. With this action, we expand free Internet access in one of the municipal buildings with the highest daily activity and provide residents with new technological resources to facilitate learning, electronic procedures, and access to digital public services.”
With this initiative, the riverside town hall reaffirms its commitment to modernising municipal technological infrastructures and reducing the digital divide. The Isabel de Farnesio Cultural Centre thus consolidates itself as a reference space for training, culture, and innovation in Aranjuez.
Residents who wish to use these resources can visit the centre during its usual opening hours, where both the WiFi connection and the computers are available free of charge.
