Las Rozas Innova and Schréder install three multisensors in the centre of Las Rozas to analyse mobility and urban activity until February 2027.
Las Rozas has launched a pilot project for urban innovation that will use artificial intelligence and sensors to measure mobility and activity in the town centre. The initiative, driven by Las Rozas Innova and the technology company Schréder, is backed by the Town Hall.
Three SENSE ONE devices have been installed, an intelligent multisensor that collects data on mobility, parking, the environment, and pedestrian flows. The devices are located at the junction of Real and Cruces streets, Avenida de la Iglesia, and Cuesta de San Francisco.
The sensors will operate until February 2027 and will provide anonymised real-time information. The aim is to understand how urban spaces are used and facilitate data-driven decision-making.
“Thanks to this project, we will be able to know and validate an innovative Smart City technology, capable of providing accurate information on how urban spaces are used, facilitating data-driven decision-making to improve mobility, accessibility, and quality of life in the city,” highlights the Mayor of Las Rozas and president of Las Rozas Innova, José de la Uz.
The pilot is part of the municipality's strategy to become a smart city. The data collected will allow, for example, adjustments to traffic regulation or improvements in pedestrian accessibility in the busiest area of the urban centre.
Residents may notice better management of public spaces in the medium term, although the project is essentially about information gathering. The municipal company plans to present the first results before the end of the trial period.
