The Tourist Innovation Centre of the Sierra Norte de Madrid launches bus routes to discover the murals, history, and traditions of the region's towns. Departures will take place on weekends at the end of September and in October, with tastings of local products included.
The Tourist Innovation Centre of the Sierra Norte de Madrid, based in Villa San Roque, has organised a series of guided tours to bring local residents closer to the murals, history, and traditions of their towns. The activity, titled Routes through the Walls that Speak, is in collaboration with the Community of Madrid and the Valle Norte del Lozoya Consortium.
Departures are scheduled for 26 and 27 September and 4, 17, 24 and 25 October, always at 9:30 AM. Each route includes a bus for the entire journey, a tour guide, tasting of local products in the main town of the route, and accident and civil liability insurance.
The activity is exclusive to residents registered in one of the 42 municipalities of the Sierra Norte de Madrid. Registration will be verified with the corresponding Town Hall, so the registration constitutes a pre-reservation that will be confirmed once the data is checked.
Each route has a maximum of 25 places and reservations for up to 4 people per request are allowed. Only one route can be taken per person, unless there are free places available. The municipalities included in each route can be checked on the Sierra del Guadarrama website, where the registration form is also available.
