The Ricardo León Library in Galapagar hosts two book presentations, a storytelling session, and an activity to learn about the work of librarians from September 9 to 11.
The Ricardo León Library in Galapagar continues its cultural programming for September with four events between Wednesday, September 9, and Friday, September 11. The agenda includes two book presentations, an activity to learn about the functioning of the equipment, and a family storytelling session.
The programming kicks off on Wednesday, September 9, at 19:00 with the presentation of Shadows in the Reform, a novel by Jesús Moyá Ruiz, a writer and resident of Galapagar since 1991. Born in Madrid in 1987 and with cerebral palsy since birth, Moyá addresses themes of overcoming, solidarity, and the fight for justice in his work. The event is aimed at an adult audience and admission is free until capacity is reached.
On Thursday, September 10, at 18:00, “Librarians for a Day” will take place, an activity to discover how the library operates from the inside: the organisation of the collections, the care of the books, and the attention to visitors. It is aimed at those aged 6 and over, has limited capacity, and requires prior registration at biblioteca@galapagar.es.
On Friday, September 11, at 18:00, there will be two events at the same time. On one hand, the storytelling session “Tales with Shells”, a selection of stories to enjoy as a family, aimed at those over 5 years old, also with limited capacity and prior registration at the same email. At the same time, The Guardian of the Rose, a historical novel by Nieves Corte set in 15th century Paris and focused on the figure of Christine de Pizan, will be presented. During the event, the author will converse with journalist Inmaculada Cubillo; admission is free until capacity is reached.
