The Town Hall of Horcajuelo de la Sierra will hire nine unemployed people in areas such as elderly care, early childhood education, or gardening in 2026, funded by the Community of Madrid.
The Town Hall of Horcajuelo de la Sierra will allocate €274,686.12 during 2026 to the Public Employment-Training Programme for Professional Activation in Rural Municipalities, funded by the Ministry of Economy, Finance and Employment of the Community of Madrid. The initiative subsidises local entities to hire unemployed people and improve their employability in the face of depopulation.
The programme includes the hiring and training of nine professional profiles for 12 months, tailored to the local community's needs, social requirements, and operational demands. It also aims to strengthen public services in small rural populations while training and integrating professionals in strategic areas.
Among the positions are a home care worker for the care of dependents and the elderly, a preschool teacher for child development and family support, a cleaning operative and two gardeners to maintain public spaces and green areas, and a lawyer, an IT specialist, and an administrative worker for municipal management and the digital development of the rural environment. An event organiser will also be hired to promote tourism, culture, and community in Horcajuelo.
