The City Council of Velilla de San Antonio raises the family income limit for book, material, and cooperative grants for the 2026-2027 school year by an average of 12%. The application period opens on 30 September and closes on 14 October 2026.
Families in Velilla de San Antonio with children enrolled in publicly funded schools can apply from 30 September for assistance with textbooks, school supplies, or cooperative fees for the 2026-2027 school year. The application period will remain open until 14 October 2026, inclusive.
This year's call increases the maximum income threshold by an average of 12% compared to the criteria for the 2025-2026 school year. According to the City Council, this update will allow more families or students to access the subsidy.
The grants cover the second cycle of Early Childhood Education, Primary Education, Compulsory Secondary Education, Special Education, and Basic Vocational Training for children under 16 years old.
The mayor, Antonia Alcázar, has defended the measure:
Ensuring equal opportunities from the ground up is the cornerstone of our institutional and social commitment. Raising the threshold for this aid is a firm political decision to protect the working class and ensure that no public school student is left behind for economic reasons. Education is not a privilege; it is a fundamental right that we must strengthen from the closest administrations.
Each family will submit a single application for all students in their household. The household is determined as of 31 December 2025. Those who have registered in Velilla during 2026 must provide historical proof of their residence prior to that date.
The form can be downloaded from the municipal website or collected at the City Hall (plaza de la Constitución, 1) and at the Education area offices (plaza de la Constitución, 11).
Along with the application, a photocopy of the ID of the adults in the household, the complete family book, a document certifying that the school does not have the ACCEDE Programme or advises against its use (only for books), original invoices itemised by concept and student, a certificate from the school confirming the payment of the cooperative, the 2025 tax return of the household, and a certificate of being up to date with tax obligations and Social Security, in cases where consultation is not authorised, must be submitted.
Applications can be submitted via Electronic Headquarters with a digital certificate, at the Municipal Registry from Monday to Friday from 8:30 to 14:30, and in the Education area on 7 and 14 October from 16:00 to 18:00, in addition to the places provided for in Law 39/2015.
