The municipal group ACIPA brings to the September Plenary a request for parking spaces for people with reduced mobility to be unified in front of the main entrance of Aranjuez train station.
The Independent Citizens' Group for Aranjuez (ACIPA) has submitted a request to the Plenary of the Corporation for parking spaces reserved for people with reduced mobility (PMR) to be concentrated at the closest point to the train station entrance. The group argues that the planned location in the works being carried out by the City Council of Aranjuez forces these users to walk hundreds of meters to reach the terminal.
The renovation and adaptation project for the parking lot includes spaces for this group, but ACIPA believes that their current placement does not align with accessibility logic. According to the municipal group, residents and organizations that have raised complaints and suggestions agree that the parking should be unified next to the main access.
It doesn’t make much sense for people with mobility issues who park in the newly planned location to have to walk hundreds of meters to reach the station,” ACIPA states in its document.
The request asks the municipal government to carry out the necessary arrangements with Adif, the owner of the railway infrastructure, and with other competent bodies to relocate and increase the number of PMR spaces in the parking lot located right in front of the entrance to the Aranjuez station terminal.
The request is submitted to the Corporation's Plenary corresponding to September 2026, where the municipal group hopes that the local Executive will commit to forwarding the request to Adif and to expedite the procedures so that accessible spaces are as close as possible to the platform.
