The council approves a budget modification to execute €1,175,920.98 in new investments before the year ends, with a focus on asphalting several urbanisations and improving public lighting.

The Plenary of the Galapagar City Council has given the green light this Thursday to a budget modification that will allow the mobilization of €1,175,920.98 in new investments and priority actions before the end of the fiscal year. The aim is to take advantage of credits that had become available to avoid losing spending capacity and to address the real needs of the municipality.

The majority of this amount, €700,000, will be allocated to the Public Roads Improvement and Conditioning Plan, supplemented by another €363,988.64 from available credits. In total, over one million euros will be used to improve the condition of the roads, which have deteriorated over time in some areas.

The asphalting work will focus on the urbanisations Vista Nevada, Los Jarales, and El Reno, where the pavement will be renewed and accessibility improved. The City Council emphasises that this action will enhance road safety and make circulation more comfortable for both residents and drivers.

The budget modification also includes €114,000 for improving public lighting, aiming to continue renewing municipal facilities and move towards a more energy-efficient system. Additionally, €157,280.77 will be allocated to ensure the continuity of street cleaning and paper and cardboard collection services.

The remaining funds will be used to complete actions related to drinking water supply, mobility and transport, as well as for the festivities area in preparation for the celebrations on October 12 and Christmas.

With this decision, the Government team reaffirms its commitment to responsible management of public resources, adapting the budget to the real needs of the municipality and transforming available credits into improvements that will have a direct impact on the quality of life for the residents of Galapagar.
