The City Council of Aranjuez and Alerce Iberian Properties will begin the repair and resurfacing of World Heritage Street on August 12, in the vicinity of the future La Montaña shopping park.
Machinery will start operating on August 12 on World Heritage Street in Aranjuez. The City Council and developer Alerce Iberian Properties have announced the commencement of repair and resurfacing works, part of the urban development project for the La Montaña sector, next to the plot where the future shopping park will be built, which is expected to open by the end of the year.
The works are part of a collaboration agreement signed between the council and the company, whereby Alerce carries out the urban development works in the area surrounding its plot. The aim is to complete the necessary actions for the future acceptance of the La Montaña neighbourhood.
The area of intervention covers the space bounded by the streets World Heritage, Ciudad de Toledo, Granada, and the service road of the M-305. There, actions will be taken to restore full functionality to the existing urbanization and improve the infrastructures serving the area.
The project, managed by Alerce, includes a comprehensive approach to pavements, sidewalks, bike lanes, and urban infrastructures. It includes the repair and reinforcement of the pavement, the adaptation of sanitation networks, water supply, irrigation, and public lighting, as well as the renewal of signage, urban furniture, and green areas.
Among the most notable actions is the rehabilitation of the final section of Granada Street before its junction with the M-305 and the reconstruction of the pavement on World Heritage Street in the uphill direction, between the Cultural Landscape of Aranjuez roundabout and Ciudad de Toledo Street. A new bike lane and a pedestrian path parallel to the M-305 will also be constructed, along with improvements to the sidewalks and access to the commercial area.
The works scheduled between August 12 and 28 correspond to a first phase of the intervention and have been planned to coincide with the period of lowest traffic intensity. During these dates, the signage and marking of the work will be carried out, the affected lanes will be closed, and traffic will be reorganized.
The intervention also includes the repair and modernization of the supply and sanitation networks, the renewal of public lighting with new light points where necessary, the improvement of the irrigation network, the replacement of affected trees, and the installation of new vertical and horizontal signage to enhance road safety and accessibility.
With these works, the City Council aims to improve mobility and services in the area, a further step towards the definitive acceptance of the La Montaña neighbourhood. Residents will notice an improvement in road safety and the quality of urban infrastructures in the area.
