The Móstoles City Council has completed the intensive improvement plan in the Estoril I neighbourhood, with over 200 actions focused on accessibility and safety. The investment includes new pedestrian crossings, disabled parking spaces, and pavement repairs.
The Estoril I neighbourhood in Móstoles unveils a renewed urban environment. The City Council has announced the completion of more than 200 actions outlined in the intensive plan developed in this area of district 3 South-East, a package of improvements centred on accessibility and road safety.
The mayor, Manuel Bautista, accompanied by the councillor for Urban Planning, Housing, Heritage, and City Maintenance, Sergio Soler, and the councillor president of the District Board 3 South-East, Ángeles García, visited the main streets of the neighbourhood to assess the results of the work.
Among the most notable actions is the renewal of the road surface, the repair of damaged curbs, and the removal of architectural barriers, a preliminary task ahead of the paving plan that the City Council intends to execute. In total, more than 315 square metres of tiles have been installed, 90 square metres of terrace have been executed, and 213 linear metres of curbing have been placed.
Additionally, paving has been replaced in 6 square metres and concrete has been executed in 60 square metres. The list of improvements also includes the renewal of nine lighting covers and 34 traffic signs, the installation of six new bollards, and the replacement of 16 metres of fencing.
Accessibility has been one of the central axes of the plan. Two new parking spaces for people with reduced mobility (PMR) and three new pedestrian crossings have been created, aimed at facilitating safer and more comfortable circulation for residents. A new light point has also been installed between Montecarlo Street and Camino de Leganés.
The plan has also included cleaning and maintenance tasks, such as the repair of bollards and signs. The mayor has highlighted that "with all these actions we continue to work towards achieving a more cared-for, accessible, safe city that meets the needs of all Móstoles residents."
These improvements are part of a municipal strategy that aims to intervene neighbourhood by neighbourhood across the different districts of Móstoles. The work in Estoril I adds to those carried out in other areas of the municipality, where the City Council has already executed similar accessibility and maintenance actions.
Residents of Estoril I can now enjoy the new pedestrian crossings and PMR parking spaces, which have been operational since the completion of the works. The City Council will continue with the paving plan in the coming weeks, once these preliminary works are concluded.
