Aranjuez begins this Wednesday, September 2, the Fiestas del Motín with a special traffic plan. Until Sunday, September 6, there will be closures and restrictions in several streets and squares in the centre.
The Fiestas del Motín 2026 in Aranjuez bring with them a broad plan of traffic closures and restrictions from this Wednesday September 2 until Sunday September 6. The closures affect access to the fairgrounds, the historic centre, and the areas where the scheduled events are held.
From 16:30 today, Wednesday, until 01:00, one lane will be opened for entry and another for exit via the northern access, from the Tranzón de las 12 Calles (fairgrounds) to Plaza de Santiago Rusiñol. This same closure will be repeated from 16:30 to 03:00 on September 3, 4, and 5.
On Thursday, September 3, from approximately 10:00 to 21:00, there will be closures at Carrera de Andalucía with Real due to the setup of the craft fair, with a diversion via Calle Real. At 21:30, Plaza de la Constitución may be isolated from the streets Abastos with Postas, Stuart with San Pascual, and Gobernador with Almíbar, depending on the crowd. At 22:00, Plaza de San Antonio will be isolated, with closures at Carrera de Andalucía with Gobernador and at Plaza de Santiago Rusiñol with Avenida del Palacio; it will reopen around 05:30.
On Friday, September 4, from 10:00 to 14:00, Stuart street will be closed between Gobernador and Real for the Encierro Infantil. At 20:30, Príncipe street will be isolated between Capitán and Stuart due to the representation of the Assault on the Casa de Godoy; traffic towards the Hospital will be diverted via Rey, Reina, and the Puente Barcas. At 21:00, Plaza de la Constitución will be isolated again, and from 22:30 Plaza de San Antonio will be closed, with the same closures and reopening times.
On Friday, Infantas street will also be closed between Capitán and Rey from 16:00 to 04:00 for the installation of the stage and a musical concert. Palacio Silvela street and the area around Raso de la Estrella will be closed from 22:00 to 06:00.
On Saturday, September 5, from 08:00 to 15:00, the Fiesta en los Barrios will take place on Verderón street, Córdoba street (La Montaña), Clavel roundabout, and Libertad street (AGFA). The night closures in Plaza de la Constitución, Plaza de San Antonio, Infantas street, and Palacio Silvela will be repeated with the same times as Friday.
On Sunday, September 6, all day, the Puente de Barcas will have one lane for vehicle exit due to the Descenso Pirata, and the other lane will be pedestrian. At 18:30, due to the bullfighting event at the Plaza de Toros, the area between Capitán with Avenida Plaza de Toros and Almíbar with Eras will be isolated. At 21:00, Plaza de la Constitución will be isolated, and from 16:00 to 02:00, the entry and exit lane via the northern access will be maintained.
At 23:00, at the Antigua Harinera (next to the Fernando VI roundabout), traffic will be isolated on the Puente Barcas and the roundabout. The Town Hall recommends staying alert to signage and notices from agents, as closures may be advanced depending on the crowd size.
