The Majadahonda City Council has approved the Security Plan for the 2026 Patron Saint Festivities, with 280 professionals and AI cameras.
The Majadahonda City Council approved this Thursday the Security Plan for the 2026 Patron Saint Festivities in honour of the Most Holy Christ of Remedies, which will take place from September 11 to 20. The operation will involve around 280 professionals including Local Police officers, Civil Guard, private security, doctors, health technicians, and Civil Protection personnel.
The mayor, Lola Moreno, presided over the Local Security Board, which included the Councillor for Security, Mobility and Festivities, Ignacio Silván; the head of the Local Police, Eva Martín Cerrato; the captain of the Sixth Company of the Majadahonda Command, José Ángel Jiménez Jiménez, and the lieutenant of the Main Post of the Civil Guard, Alberto Ruiz Rojas, among others.
The Local Police will participate with their entire staff and resources: 19 patrol vehicles, 7 unmarked cars, 5 marked vans, the Canine Unit, and drones from the Aerial Surveillance Unit. As last year, they will have their own restricted data network to share images from the drones and the 360º surveillance cameras installed at strategic points.
There will be static police posts in the Colón Park during the first weekend and, in the second, also in the Fairgrounds. Security cameras will be installed in both areas, and drone images will be monitored. The Local Police will conduct preventive alcohol and drug checks at the city’s entrances and exits, review documentation for attractions, and monitor terrace and bar hours.
The mayor highlighted “the commitment and involvement of everyone to continue making the Patron Saint Festivities of Majadahonda an example of coexistence and safety.”
Regarding healthcare, there will be up to 5 ambulances on the days with the most events. SERMAJ-Civil Protection will provide one ambulance and another support ambulance on September 11, 12, 13, 18, 19, and 20, in addition to a 4x4 intervention vehicle. Red Cross will operate three other ambulances (two Basic Life Support and one Advanced Life Support) and set up assistance posts in Colón Park and the Fairgrounds. The bull runs and the most attended concerts will have the complete device in place.
As in previous years, 200 identification wristbands for minors will be distributed at the Fairgrounds. Families will be able to write down the child’s name and a contact phone number to facilitate their location in case of loss. A new access to the large concert area has also been created, compacted, fenced, and illuminated.
The City Council will install two Information Points on Sexual Violence at the Fairgrounds. During the festivities, public transport will be reinforced, and a free circular bus will be provided to connect different points in the city with the Fairgrounds every 30 minutes.
