The Móstoles City Council continues the renovation works on Paseo de Goya, where curbs will be replaced, pavements will be expanded, and a new pedestrian space will be created. The mayor, Manuel Bautista, has supervised the work.
The Móstoles City Council is moving forward with the renovation of Paseo de Goya, one of the main streets in the neighbourhood, with the aim of making it more accessible and walkable. The works, carried out by the Department of Urban Planning, Housing, Heritage, and City Maintenance, include the replacement of curbs and the expansion of pavements.
The mayor, Manuel Bautista, accompanied by the area councillor, Sergio Soler, and the president of District Board 2 North-University, Mª Ángeles Gómez, visited the area to check on the progress of the work. In the landscaped roundabout at the intersection with Salcillo Street, the curbs are being replaced and the pavement area on the even-numbered side will be expanded.
Additionally, at the junction with Miguel Ángel Street, the old waste container platform will be demolished. That space will be designated for pedestrian traffic and two battery parking spaces. The pavements of Paseo de Goya in that area will also be renewed.
These actions add to those already carried out previously, such as adapting the pedestrian crossings at the junction with Salcillo Street to current regulations (Order TMA/851/2021), with tactile-visual pavement that guides visually impaired individuals. The pavements and curbs on the even-numbered side have also already been renewed, from Salcillo to number 28.
“With these actions, we improve the quality of life for residents, making Móstoles a more accessible city, creating safe and more pleasant environments to live in,” highlighted the mayor.
The works are part of a municipal plan to modernise streets and public spaces. The City Council has not specified the completion date for the works, but they are expected to conclude in the coming weeks.
