The Madrid Emergency Agency has activated risk level 0 for high temperatures across the Community of Madrid from this Monday, August 3, 2026.
The Madrid Emergency Agency has announced that, starting today Monday, August 3, 2026, the risk level for the heatwave in the Community of Madrid is lowered to level 0, meaning normality with low risk in the three meteosalud zones into which the region is divided.
According to information provided by the General Subdirectorate of Civil Protection, under the General Directorate of Civil Protection, this level has been calculated using an algorithm that takes into account the maximum temperatures forecast for today and the next two days, compared to the reference thresholds for each zone.
The three zones affected by this reduction in risk level are the Sierra de Madrid zone, the Metropolitan and Henares zone, and the South, Vegas and West zone, where Aranjuez is located. In all of them, level 0 has been established, which implies that extreme temperatures are not expected to pose a threat to public health.
This decision is part of the Action Plan for High Temperature Episodes in the Community of Madrid, which activates different alert levels according to the intensity of the heat. The information has been communicated by the Environmental Health Risk Monitoring Area, under the General Directorate of Public Health of the Health Department.
For the residents of Aranjuez and the rest of the municipalities in the South, Vegas and West zone, this level 0 means that the forecasted temperatures will not exceed the established reference thresholds, so no extraordinary protective measures are activated. However, Civil Protection reminds the importance of staying hydrated and avoiding sun exposure during the hottest hours of the day, especially among the most vulnerable groups such as the elderly and children.
