The Sierra de Madrid is facing a new heatwave that will bring rising maximum temperatures over the coming days. According to the forecast from the Town Hall of Lozoyuela-Navas-Sieteiglesias, the mercury will reach 35 ºC this Wednesday, rise to 37.1 ºC on Thursday, and peak on Friday at 37.7 ºC.
The nights will also offer no respite. Minimum temperatures will remain high: 20.5 ºC on Thursday, 20.6 ºC on Friday, and up to 23 ºC on Saturday. The ultraviolet radiation index forecast for today is high, so it is recommended to protect oneself from the sun.
The local council urges residents to hydrate frequently, avoid sun exposure during the peak hours of the day, and take extra precautions against the high temperatures. The heatwave will particularly affect municipalities in the northern area of the Community of Madrid, where temperatures will clearly exceed the usual values for early September.
