The Town Hall of San Lorenzo de El Escorial has modernised the municipal wifi network with the renewal of 34 access points using WiFi 6 technology and the addition of new nodes in tourist areas. The initiative is funded by €175,000 from NextGenerationEU.
The Town Hall of San Lorenzo de El Escorial has carried out the modernisation and expansion of the municipal wifi network. The initiative has involved the renewal of the 34 existing access points with WiFi 6 (IEEE 802.11ax) equipment, suitable for outdoor use and remotely manageable, as well as the addition of new access points in areas of tourist interest.
The supply includes the necessary support elements, power, cabling, communications, configuration, and auxiliary works required for the network's operation. The solution enhances connectivity and reliability through fibre optic connections and alternative links where necessary, permanent power at the planned locations, and centralised management.
The system incorporates continuous monitoring of the status, users, and traffic of the access points, incident alerts, anonymous usage and tourist mobility analytics, and a private SSID for municipal operational needs. Licences, updates, documentation, training, and commissioning are part of the executed supply.
The initiative is funded by €175,000 from the NextGenerationEU funds.
