The Town Hall of Galapagar has launched a pioneering measure for this August: the parking spaces of the Regulated Parking Service (SER) in the urban area will be free every afternoon. The decision, which is being applied for the first time, aims to facilitate parking for both residents and visitors during the summer period.
The new schedule, in effect until August 31, allows the SER to operate only from Monday to Friday, from 09:00 to 14:00. From two in the afternoon, the blue and green spaces are free of regulation and parking can be done at no cost.
On Saturdays, the usual hours of 10:00 to 14:00 remain in place, while parking is already free on Sundays and holidays. The reduction in hours responds to the decrease in usual activity during the summer and aims to promote mobility, facilitate errands in the centre, and support the commercial and hospitality activities of the municipality.
This measure is not temporary: the Town Hall has confirmed that this special August schedule is indefinite, meaning it will be repeated in the coming years. Thus, the afternoons of August will always be free of regulation in the urban area of Galapagar.
Drivers who wish to take advantage of this measure should keep in mind that it only affects the regulated spaces in the urban area, both blue and green. During the rest of the year, the SER maintains its usual operation.
