Ana Isabel Arias has checked on the development of the camp at CEIPSO Serracines, which this year extends to September for the first time. The initiative adds discounts for siblings and expands the dining services at the Casita de Niños.
The Mayor of Fresno de Torote, Ana Isabel Arias, visited the Early Childhood and Primary Education buildings of CEIPSO Serracines this Thursday to see the summer camp firsthand, which ends this Friday. The mayor was accompanied by the Councillor for Education, Abigail Santamaría, and shared some moments with the enrolled children, whose high participation has supported the programme's expansion.
For the first time, the camp has been held during the last week of August and the first week of September, an extension requested by the families themselves to cover the days leading up to the start of the school year. “When our neighbours communicate a need, we listen to them and seek solutions that genuinely help them in their daily lives,” Arias pointed out during the visit.
This extension demonstrates that listening to and addressing our neighbours' needs translates into useful measures. We will continue working to ensure that the families of Fresno de Torote have the resources they need,” the mayor emphasised.
The summer camp is part of the 'Días sin cole' programme, launched during the legislature to facilitate work-life balance on non-school days such as Easter or Christmas. In this edition, discounts of up to 35% for the second sibling and subsequent siblings have also been applied.
The mayor also announced that this school year, the number of dining places at the Casita de Niños will increase to 30, so that all families who wish can opt for their children to eat at the centre. This measure aims to continue facilitating work-life balance in the municipality.
