The Town Hall of Fresno de Torote has invested over €50,000 in the multi-sport court at La Reguerilla Park, which now features modular fencing, goals, baskets, nets, and solar lighting.
The Town Hall of Fresno de Torote has announced the completion of the multi-sport court at La Reguerilla Park. The installation now has the modular fencing in place, marking the completion of the second phase of the project, as reported by the Council.
The project had a municipal budget of over €50,000. In the first phase, a semi-polished concrete slab with drainage and base preparation was executed, a prefabricated concrete curb was installed, and game markings for basketball, futsal, and other multi-sport activities were painted over the previous dirt football field.
The court is located next to the children's play areas, the skating area, and the basketball and paddle courts, opposite Calle Infante García and next to the Senior Citizens' Home. The ground had a deteriorated surface and limited sports use.
In the second phase, the space has been equipped with goals, baskets, and nets, and solar lighting has been installed, allowing the facility to be used during night hours.
This multi-sport court is a clear example of our commitment to the quality and well-being of those who use public spaces,” stated the mayor of Fresno de Torote, Ana Isabel Arias.
The mayor added that the facility reflects the commitment to providing young people with the best conditions to practice sports and develop healthy habits.
The project is part of the comprehensive renovation of La Reguerilla Park, which will be developed in several phases during 2025, 2026, and 2027. The park will feature a large children's play area designed by the children of the municipality, as part of the project that Fresno de Torote is developing in collaboration with UNICEF. Several meetings have already been held where children have selected the games.
The mayor confirmed that a new zip line, bioclimatic shelters, balance circuits, and sensory paths will be installed, the latter for children with disabilities and those with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). The park will be fully accessible and will include a walkable fountain, over which people can walk while water flows.
