Tres Cantos celebrates the VIII Night Race this Saturday with a 7-kilometre route

The VIII Night Race of Tres Cantos takes place this Saturday, September 12, with a route of 7 kilometres. Registration costs 15 euros and closes today at 22:00.

The municipality of Tres Cantos hosts this Saturday, September 12, the eighth edition of its Night Race, organised by the Sports Department with technical direction from Laetus Sport. The start and finish will be at the Polideportivo de La Luz and the event will begin at 21:15.

The 7-kilometre route will pass through the main avenues and urban spaces of the city. It will start from Calle Caléndula, continue along the Avenues of the Park and La Luz, proceed along Avenida de los Labradores and turn at the Municipal Library towards Avenida de los Artesanos. It will then pass through the central promenade of Avenida de Viñuelas to Plaza de la Encina, advance along Avenida de Encuartes to the town hall square, and enter Central Park via the Fuente de la Peseta, crossing Plaza de la Familia and the area around the athletics track before returning to the starting point.

Participants must be born in 2011 or earlier. The organisation recommends using a headlamp or another light device to enhance visibility during the night route. Bib numbers will be distributed from 19:30 at the left entrance of the Polideportivo de La Luz.

The mayor, Jesús Moreno, has invited residents to take part in an event that, in his words, “integrates physical activity, community, and the opportunity to enjoy a large part of the city's public spaces from a different perspective.”

Registrations, costing 15 euros, can be formalised until 22:00 today through the Laetus Sport website. The race will award trophies to the top three finishers in both the men's and women's categories, and medals in the cadet, youth, junior, under-23, senior, and master A, B, and C categories. The award ceremony is scheduled for around 22:15.

The Sports Councillor, Eduardo Lorca, has stated that this is “an accessible event, designed for both regular runners and those looking to start or take on a new personal challenge.”
